Hydraulic Fluid
Steward's Antiwear Hydraulic Oil ISO 100 was designed for all mobile and industrial hydraulic systems. To avoid a welter of different oil specifications for all the different operating temperatures we produce a true multigrade antiwear hydraulic oil that can function under all ambient conditions. Antiwear Hydraulic Oil is suitable for low pressure systems such as farm implements and truck hydraulic tail gates, and for ultra high pressure systems. Our Premium Hydraulic Oils provide antiwear protection, oxidation inhibition, rust and corrosion protection, demusibility, foam inhibition, air release and many other benefits. View MSDS.

Steward's Antiwear Hydraulic Oil was expressly designed for hydraulic systems on off-road machinery such as the yellow machines made by Caterpillarâ„¢ and many others. It is customary in this industry to use 10 weight engine oils for hydraulic fluids. That is OK, but engine oils bring to the table several things that are not required for hydraulic systems. These things may not even be very good for hydraulic systems. For extra heavy duty performance, specifications require a minimum of 900 ppm of zinc from the antiwear additive. This is far beyond the Zinc levels for industrial antiwear hydraulic oils. Antiwear Hydraulic Oil is a special formula just for off-road equipment. It meets all the Caterpillar specifications for Zinc content and other requirements. Antiwear Hydraulic Oil will give you better hydraulic performance at a significantly lower price than 10 weight engine oil.
All petroleum base oils contain some wax. Wax crystallizes in the oil at low temperatures, and this interferes with cold starting of transmissions and hydraulic systems. There is no wax in our full synthetic formula. The cold starting performance cannot be matched by any petroleum oil.
Special synthetic base stocks provide lubricity. These base stocks bind to metal surfaces by an electrostatic attraction. When the bulk oil film is thin there is a chance of metal touching metal. When a lubricity film is in place the parts slide on that film. Metal to metal contact is eliminated. Wear is substantially reduced. Lubricity provides many benefits not available with petroleum oils.
Lubricity protects rubber seals like nothing you have ever seen. A full overhaul interval in a severe shock load environment showed that the rubber seals were still within factory new specifications. The OEM had never seen results like that ever before. This is a major benefit from a properly formulated full synthetic oil.
Full synthetic oils resist high temperature oxidation 4 to 20 times longer than petroleum oils. This is the benefit that leads to long oil change intervals.
Multigrade hydraulic oils require very shear stable polymers. We use a polymer that meets a tough military specification for multigrade hydraulic oils. It was recommended to us by the largest independent manufacturer of lube oil additives in the world. This particular polymer technology also provides exceptionally low pour points in good quality petroleum base stocks. Our multigrade hydraulic oils only contain premium quality raw materials.
Hydraulic systems require highly stable base oils and excellent multi functional additives to provide superior system protection and long service life. Out door service in variable climates calls for a true multigrade oil. Multigrade hydraulic oils must be exceptionally shear stable. With no wax content, our synthetic oils provide outstanding cold weather performance. No one else provides high Zinc antiwear oils specifically for Caterpillar equipment. Our long experience serving lubricant customers allow us to understand that quality raw materials and excellent customer acceptance are strongly linked. We provide excellent synthetic oils at reasonable prices. Careful manufacturing provides good quality. Our well equipped Quality control Laboratory assures you consistent product performance. You cannot buy a better synthetic multigrade antiwear hydraulic oil. Â
